Good Morning,

Wow, did we get a lot of rain yesterday and last night. I didn’t check my gauge but I think we can say the drought is over, at least in our area. And at least for few days we are going to be a little warmer with highs in the 50’ and 60’s. But guess what, they are calling for possible snow by Sunday!

I am going to keep this a little short this morning as I have to head to the doctor around 9. What I found out Friday was both good and bad. The good part is that the cancer is not in any organs, the bad news is that it’s in my bones. Particularly in my back, neck and hips. The doctor says that there are holes in my bones and that my neck is particularly in bad shape which could lead to me becoming paralyzed. My hip area is also bad and is in fact giving me pain this morning. Now, this is treatable with radiation and chemo. Radiation is the preferable treatment but we don’t know if they can hit it all with radiation. If not, then we will do chemo as well. I will head to the radiologist this morning to see what they say, then back to the Oncologist tomorrow morning to get the final treatment schedule. If I do need the chemo as well as the radiation, which I think will happen, then it will begin tomorrow. I will be able to tell you a lot more about this on Wednesday. Thanks for your prayers and please continue to pray for me as we begin this ordeal.

In church, I once again asked that people do not hug me, because of my neck. But I still plan to do as much at church as I can while going through this process. I hope to be able to continue to preach on Sunday mornings, but we have a back up plan for those Sundays that I may not be able too, which we hope is not that often. I will be in the office as many mornings as possible, but that will have a lot to do with my treatment schedule. But the office will be covered by a couple of our ladies, Joni Stephens and Danna Snapp. These great ladies will be doing a lot of the things that I have been doing and in general taking care of all of our office concerns.

Well, I have a couple of things I need to do before heading out to the doctor, so I will talk with you tomorrow.

Have a Great Day in the Lord,
                   Rod
